Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!

2 Corinthians 6:11-13The Message (MSG)

11-13 Dear, dear Corinthians, I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way. I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!

Right attitude in Difficult times

Deliverance Church Riabai With  Pastor Mathius Kimari.

why do i have to go through this?
what's the right attitude in times of difficulties?

James 1:1-5,  John 15:20, 2 Tim 3:12, 1 Peter1:6-7,

# If there are people who could have boosted about the gospel would be the disciples, they were the first to receive the gospel and first to receive the power "Holy Spirit" they wrote the gospel, epistles, yet people like James considered himself a servant, Paul talks of being grafted. they never boosted!!

# becoming a christian does not exclude you from facing difficulties.

# At the point of Trials the genuineness of our faith is put to test, and its known.

# The proper attitude in meeting adversities is to count it all JOY, which is not an Emotional reaction but a deliberate intelligent appraisal of the situation from God's perspective viewing trials as a means of moral and spiritual growth.

#When we face difficulties God is giving us an opportunity to experience the Joy that comes after God intervenes in our situation.

#We do not rejoice in trials themselves, but in their possible results.

#Patience is developed at times of trials.

#Testing carries the idea of testing genuineness.

# Trials serves as discipline to dross faith.

#Patience is not a passive resignation to adverse circumstances but a positive steadfastness that bravely endures.

#Patience leads us to maturity in Faith.

#Difficulties and trials come in our life to test our ability, quality and our performance in certain areas.

#Hannah maintained a positive attitude towards God.

A King and a servant.

                                     A King had a male servant who, in all circumstances always said to him;
My king, do not be discouraged because everything God does is perfect, no mistakes.
One day, they went hunting and a wild animal attacked the king, the servant managed to kill the animal but couldn't prevent his majesty from losing a finger. Furious and without showing gratitude, the King said; if God was good, I would not have been attacked and lost one finger. The servant replied, 'despite all these things, I can only tell you that God is good and everything He does is perfect, He is never wrong'. Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of his servant. While being taken to prison, he told the king again, God is Good & Perfect. Another day, the king left alone for another hunt and was captured by savages who use human beings for sacrifice. On the altar, the savages found out that the king didn't have one finger in place, he was released because he was considered not "complete" to be offered to the gods. On his return to the palace, he ordered the release of his servant and said; My friend, God was really good to me. I was almost killed but for lack of a single finger, I was let go. But I have a question; If God is so good, why did He allow me to put you in prison? His servant replied; My king, if I had not been put in prison, I would have gone with you, and would have been sacrificed, because I have no missing finger. Everything God does is perfect, He is never wrong. Often we complain about life, and the negative things that happen to us, forgetting that everything happens for a purpose. God knows all the whys of everything .
 God is good and perfect!!

You said you passed through class two Answer this!

One day my son asked me a question, it took me a whole night thinking about the appropriate answer to explain. i believe you want to give it a try.

A story is told of this fisherman, in Quest-land. who got up very early in the morning to go fishing as usual.
quest-land
There was no enough sunlight to get his boat into the sea. he walked around waiting the sun to appear brighter, at the seashore he saw a pack of stones, and to pass time, he started throwing the stones into the sea, one after the other, back in his mind thinking of his son, back at home, who was about to graduate to class eight..
While having the last stone in his hand, the sun was up and bright enough. then he saw that the stone he was holding was a diamond and all the other 11 stones he threw into the sea were diamonds as well.
he felt sorry for his lost misfortune..

what lesson have you learnt from the story?

"Keep the F and i will keep my dream"

"Keep the F and i will keep my dream"

In our traditions Story telling is one of the most important activity that took place, main goal was to pass over the traditions and belief of the community, counsel young men and ladies and prepare them for whats ahead of them, it was mostly shared by elders unlike nowadays where young-stars can share with anyone who inclines their ear to listen no wonder there's too much mis-interpreted stories and theories circulating in our society today,

This Evening Pukky came home late after a tough day at work. " I will tell you a story of my friend, Monty." he said after supper.

As he was a kid, his father as a horse trainer was moving from stable to stable, from ranch to ranch, training horses. Thus the boy's school career was constantly interrupted.

One day, when he was a senior the teacher asked him to write about what he wanted to be when he grew up.

He  didn't hesitate a minute and wrote seven-page paper about his aim to be an owner of a horse ranch.
he wrote many details and went ahead to draw a location of buildings and stables and even a detailed house plan.

Two days later he received his paper back with letter "F" on the front page. After class he came to the teacher and asked "Why did i receive an F?"
The teacher responded. "This dreams is so unrealistic for a boy like you, who has no money, no resources and who comes from itinerant family. There is no possibility that you will reach your great goals one day"
Then the teacher offered to rewrite the paper with more realistic attitude.
The boy went home and asked his Father, how should he act. The father answered "This decision is very important for you. so you have to make your own mind on this"

After several days the days the boy brought the same paper to his teacher. no changes were made.
He said. "Keep the F and i will keep my dream".
Now Monty Roberts owns 4,000 squared-foot
house in the middle of 200 acre horse ranch and he still has that school paper, which now is framed over the fireplace. Remember you have to follow your heart and never let anyone to steal your dreams.

Remember giving up is never an option!!

Every person with a vision and a mission will encounter discouragements but remember not to turn your ears to discourages, look at someone like Nehemiah, he was discouraged by the tobia, against building the wall of Jerusalem, don't give up. you can make it,

God is Real!!!

1. Babies. How can anyone deny the reality of God when they see a baby? The amount of information encrypted in one cell in the human body is equal to that of 1,000 books. The total amount of information stored in your DNA is 40 times more than that of the largest set of encyclopedias in the world. King David felt this sense of awe when he wrote, “You wove me in my mother’s womb. ... I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Ps. 139:13, 14, NASB). Life is truly a miracle!

2. Thunderstorms. I love to sit on my back porch in Kenya and listen to the rumbling of thunder. It reminds me of God’s majesty and power. The apostle Paul said creation was the best evidence of God’s existence. He wrote, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen” (Rom. 1:20). Nature is actually full of quantifiable miracles. Just consider the fact that the earth is the perfect distance from the sun to support life. If we were any farther away from the sun, we would freeze; if we were even slightly closer to it, we would burn up. It’s obvious God created this home for us!

3. The Bible. Paul wrote that “all Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Tim. 3:16). The Bible itself is proof of God’s existence because He used 40 unrelated people over a period of 2,000 years to write His unique love letter to us. There is nothing like the Bible because it carries the same consistent message throughout all of its 66 different books. Atheists can laugh at this idea, but those who have read the Scriptures and experienced God through its pages know why it is the best-selling and most-translated book in all of history. (Fact: 100 million copies of the Bible are sold every year. Richard Dawkins’ The God Delusion has sold 2 million.)
4. Jesus. The most amazing thing about God is that He loved us soo much He sent His Son to earth to save us from ourselves. Jesus was with the Father from the time of creation, and His arrival was predicted numerous times in Old Testament prophecy. Finally He interrupted history and came to live among us. His crucifixion is historical fact, and His resurrection was verified by hundreds of witnesses. The man who perhaps knew Jesus best—the apostle John—saw the risen Christ and touched His nail-pierced hands. He wrote, “What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you” (1 John 1:3). Jesus is not an illusive fairy tale. He is the living, breathing, touchable Son of God.
5. My personal friendship with God. Atheists may not be convinced that God exists after listening to a storm, smelling a hibiscus or reading the Bible. When I am asked to defend my faith, I don’t start an intellectual argument. I have to go back to the words of Paul in 2 Timothy 1:12: “I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed.”
There are many reasons I am convinced God is real (the existence of coffee alone proves that He loves me!), but the best evidence is how He forgave me, changed me and put unexplainable joy in my heart. And I can prove that.
